The Block Cares exists to empower kids and youth to experience a limitless future.
Our programs work to develop cognitive, social, and emotional skills and give youth participants a place of ownership and value. They serve as a preventative measure to keep youth off the street and provide stability and support to empower vision for a future that goes beyond current circumstances.
Mentoring programs which support literacy, social and emotional connection, and the development of sustainable life skills.
Safe spaces that keep children and youth off the street and immersed in productive activities and experiences with a focus on creative expression and active movement.
Working together with other existing leaders and organizations to promote unity, uplift neighborhood communities, and be the catalyst for change.
The Block Cares was founded and launched in 2021 by The Block Church, which is headquartered in Port Richmond with multiple locations throughout the city of Philadelphia. The Block Cares’ vision is to develop initiatives centered on the kids and youth of our city who are most significantly impacted by the unique challenges of their neighborhood. In addition, The Block Cares seeks to bring connection and unity to existing communities.
